Here’s a small excerpt from the story:
” Walking on stilts through the insect ocean, the bottom of my feet are only inches away from the surface. Crissy and I used to stilt-walk through the cluster all the time. It had been a popular thing to do for the past couple of years. A lot of junkies and homeless guys live out in the abandoned buildings here. The people who originally lived in them had to leave most of their belongings behind when they were evacuated, so there’s a lot of good stuff to steal as long as you can carry it out on stilts. There’s a lot of furniture, so it’s really good shelter if you’re used to sleeping on the streets. It’s also a perfect place to hide out when you’re on the run. Cops never venture out into the cluster. ”
